DIVEST FROM ANY PERSONAL INVESTMENT FUNDS SUPPORTING FOSSIL FUELS.
Divesting means de-investing in pollution and re-investing in climate solutions.
A study of direct and indirect household emissions found that investments like stocks and retirement accounts were the largest climate polluter for the wealthiest Americans.
If you own stocks or funds, chances are high that some of this money is supporting fossil fuels.
Do you need to divest?
Look up the names of any funds or stocks you own and enter them at fossilfreefunds.org to check the climate impact of your personal investments.
If your current investments get a bad climate grade, it’s time to divest!
Here’s what to do:
- Divest the dirty stuff (sell your stock), then
- Reinvest your money in good stuff that supports climate action!
There are lots of options out there. Discuss with a financial advisor what makes sense for you.
